I could talk about skincare and makeup all day long. There is one main difference when purchasing skincare and makeup. When purchasing skincare products, the ingredients and how well the product works controls everything. With makeup, while it is easier to use products that are of high quality, a person can make them work regardless, if they know what they are doing.
These are 15 items of the best skincare products I can recommend at a reasonable price. It is possible to get great products without spending hundreds of dollars on one item. The trick is researching ingredients. Ingredients mean everything when it comes to skincare! Normally, I just place the items in a list for you all, and have a small description to each one. However, like I said, I could talk skincare all day, therefore, I am going to write the descriptions first and after will be the list like normal.
If you have any questions about the skincare products, please let me know. These products will NOT work for everyone. It all depends on your skin type, sensitivity, and problem areas. If you are not sure whether an item would work for you or not, do not hesitate to DM me or email me! I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Skin Care Products Descriptions
- ELF Makeup Melting Balm
- If you are a makeup wearer, removing your makeup completely EVERYDAY is the biggest tip I could give for taking care of your skin! Using micellar water and makeup wipes can remove your makeup, but it will more than likely take more rubbing and tugging on your skin. A makeup melting balm or spray saves you from having to work so hard. I highly recommend using this product on and around your eyes, saving you from having to rub your eyes as much. The process of removing makeup around your eyes needs to be as gentle as possible to prevent wrinkles and fine lines!
- CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser
- Is this product necessary for everyone? No. Can everyone benefit from using it? Yes. If you wear large amounts of makeup, I would recommend using a facial cleanser 2-3 times per week. If you wear little to no makeup, I would say, use it once per week. I am a mixture of those types of people, there are weeks I might wear makeup daily, but there are times I can go a month or more without putting very little on. I have found what works best for my skin is leaving my facial cleanser in the shower. You can usually tell if you need a deeper clean just by touch alone, regardless, I normally deep cleanse my face one time per week.
- Micellar Cleansing Water
- When it comes to micellar water, I will put a little bit on 2 cotton rounds. I will then place one on each eye and let it set for at least 15-30 seconds, then start to gently rotate the cotton round in circle motions to go over every area of my eye, from the brow to under my eye. This gives the micellar water time to break down the makeup so that you can basically just wipe away all the stubborn makeup.
- Thayers Facial Toner
- Do not use toner with alcohol in the ingredients list, at least not high up on the list! Alcohol will slowly age you over time because it is made to strip moisture out of whatever it touches. I do have a different toner that I like, however, it does have alcohol in it. I only try to use that toner roughly 1-2 times per week. That is why I recommend this toner, it is alcohol free and removes dead skin cells, oil, and dirt better than a lot of others that I have tried! This toner is also good for if you get a little too much sun on your face because it is made with an Aloe Vera formula. Perfect for toning, hydrating, and soothing the skin all at the same time!
- Bliss Glow & Hydrate Daily Serum
- I use serum everyday for glowing and hydrating my skin. When using a hydrating skincare product you want to look for the magic words “hyaluronic acid”. As we get older, we naturally stop making hyaluronic acid. That is what helps with elasticity, as well as our skin being able to retain moisture. Using hyaluronic acid serum is going to keep your skin looking radiant, tight, and plumped. It will also help to lock in the moisture that your skin needs!
- Neutrogena Stubborn Blackheads Daily Serum
- I absolutely love this product! It works amazing on blackheads, and also on preventing blackheads. This product is very drying! If you have dry skin, I recommend using it very sparingly, that way it doesn’t cause more problems with dryness than it’s worth! However, if you have normal to oily, I strongly recommend having it on hand, even if you don’t suffer from blackheads. This product can be used on white heads. Also, one thing I have found that it does that it doesn’t advertise for is its ability to clear up breakouts. For small individual zits/pimples, I would reach for the mighty patches, but for a larger area I would reach for this! As for blackheads, I had a blackhead on my lip for almost 10 years that I could not remove. For multiple reasons, it was in a very awkward place, it was very painful to work on, and it was very, very stubborn! I used this serum on it twice a day and by day 4 this very stubborn blackhead basically fell out on its own! It was amazing! Plus, it has never returned!
- Eye Serum with Caffeine
- Eye serums and eye creams are very different in consistency. Depending on what you need fixed as well as the type of skin you have depends on which would be better for you! For example, I personally use an eye serum in my morning routine, while I use an eye cream for my nightly routine. This eye serum has 5% caffeine in it. That means it is going to give your eyes that awake look, even if you are tired. Now, it will not work miracles right away, but there will be a slight brightness to your undereyes. Using it consistently will make the biggest difference in the darkness under your eyes. There is no pigment to these serums, therefore, it is not going to work like a concealer, instantly. The packaging itself for this item is also a plus. The applicator is a rotating ball which will give a cooling sensation helping to reduce puffiness. I would recommend this eye serum to be used in the morning, or while getting ready to go out. It works well under makeup, too!
- Retinol Eye Cream
- Retinol is a very, very strong ingredient that shouldn’t be used without testing on your face first. Retinol helps with many things but in an eye cream its purpose is for tightening and brightening. I recommend using this eye cream only at night. Retinol can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight so be cautious when first using it until your skin becomes accustomed to it. Retinol can also be drying so moisturizing is also very important. If the retinol feels too strong for your skin you can actually mix it with your moisturizer to calm the strength. If you are between 25-30, I wouldn’t use retinol except 1-2 times per week. By age 30-35, I would recommend using it more frequently to set your skin up for success going into your 40s.
- Vacation Classic Whip SPF
- Sunscreen is very important on makeup days and no makeup days. It isn’t most peoples’ favorite step, and most of the time overlooked or purposely forgotten. This company made a way to make applying sunscreen fun. It comes in a whipped cream type bottle, with an amazing scent to go with it. They actually received so many high ratings/reviews about the scent that they have made it into an air freshener. (There is a free air freshener with the purchase of the sunscreen through this link.) This product was specifically made with layering makeup on top in mind, or for it to make your bare skin look healthy and leave a beautiful glow on no makeup days. *There is a bit of a learning curve when dispensing your sunscreen from this can. It is extremely easy to dispense a lot more than needed! Start by applying as little as possible, you can always add more. If you do take too much out, place it in a small container to use the next time!*
- ELF Face Cream (Moisturizer)
- Whether you have normal, oily, dry, or combo skin everyone needs to use a moisturizer! Hydration is a must for our entire body. We drink water to hydrate our bodies, as well as use lotion on our body to hydrate it. Regular lotion is NOT made for the sensitive skin of our faces. (Make sure when purchasing any skincare product, read on it to see what type of skin it is specifically made for) Using the right moisturizer for your skin is key to perfectly hydrated skin. (By the way, I have heard it said by many “I have oily skin, I don’t need moisturizer”. That could not be further from the truth!)
- ELF Lip Oil
- I do NOT use nor recommend regular chapstick! While it does coat the lips for a short period of time, as the product dries/gets removed it actually leaves your lips drier than before. I recommend either lip balm or lip oil, with lips oils being my #1 recommendation. There are many different companies/brands that have lip oils, but I have not found one better nor cheaper than the ELF Lip Oil. The longer the lip oils sit on your lips the better. The oil actually seeps into your lips, whereas chapstick sits on top of your lips. Lip balms are a good middle ground, they do not just sit on top of the lips, but they also don’t penetrate the skin as deeply as the oil can. Also, if you like the look of a gloss lip, you can’t find a prettier gloss look than this item! I personally will always choose the shade “Crystal Clear”, but in the picture shown above there are 7 different shades that you can choose from!
- Castor Oil
- There are tons of benefits when it comes to Caster Oil, you can see some of them in the picture. To save you all some reading time, I won’t get into each benefit, but I will talk about the one that has helped me. When I get stressed or I am in pain, I tend to rub my eyebrow. It’s always the right eyebrow, specifically, the front part of the brow. I didn’t realize how big of a problem this was until it was pointed out to me by my momma asking “why did I have a bald spot in my eyebrow?”. I had heard that caster oil helped with hair growth, but was a little skeptical about if it was true. So, I went to Amazon, as many of us do, and started researching. I found this one that came with a dual sided tube that could be used for so many places like brows, lashes, fingernails, and more! After using this product for about a week every night, I finally had an eyebrow! I had tried to get the bald spot to go away by leaving the brow alone and letting the hair grow, but that didn’t work. It would just grow as usual, but with a bald spot. This works wonders for hair growth!
- Mighty Patch Nose
- This is not an ordinary nose strip. I think we all are familiar with the nose strips that you leave on for 10-20 minutes, remove, and see all the gunk removed. While I still use those types of nose strips, they are more of a “fix the top layer” type of product. These nose strips are recommended to wear for up to at least 6 hours! The nose strip deeply cleanses the problem area while also treating it. The color of the nose strip will change as it works, and when it becomes visible with gunk it is ready to take off. I recommend putting it on before bed, and taking it off after waking up the next morning!
- Mighty Patch The Original
- This product should be called “Miracle Patch”. Anytime you have a pimple, zit, or just a break out, place this patch on it before going to bed. Within 6-8 hours of wearing the mighty patch, it will be ready to take off. When you take the patch off, I’m confident that you will be shocked with the results! It was made by dermatologists to be the best and fastest treatment of all kinds of acne with no pain!
- Dr. Dennis Gross Daily Peel
- This product can be used as a daily treatment. If you are using this product as a treatment to help repair or balance your skin, I would use it daily or every other day. However, if you are wanting to use it as a preventative treatment, I would use it only once per week, if that. This product can get on the more expensive side, if you need to use it more often than not, but it is well worth it! I could go on and on about the magic that this product does, but I would actually just recommend you going to the reviews through my link to see for yourself!
