Everything you Need to Deep Clean your Kitchen!

Below I go into how I deep clean my kitchen, but I do understand that not everyone has time nor likes to read long post. That’s why I am going to leave a button here that will take you straight to the products I recommend!

The Process of Deep Cleaning a Kitchen!

I follow a cleaning schedule to make sure that each room of my home gets deep cleaned every week. I am going to share with you the process of how I deep clean my kitchen and the products to which I use. On Friday’s, I deep clean my kitchen. When deep cleaning any room you want to clean from top to bottom. However, if there is something in the room that needs to sit for a little while or takes longer (like laundry), start with it first.

When it comes to the kitchen, it is a little different than other rooms. It would be very difficult to deep clean the kitchen starting with a dirty kitchen. Therefore, I recommend washing the dishes and taking care of the trash. Remember to wash the microwave plate when doing the dishes when doing a deep clean. Once that is done you can focus on deep cleaning the kitchen itself. For washing dishes, I always use the Dawn EZ Squeeze paired with a Sponge Daddy. The sponge daddy is the same as a Scrub Mommy, but it is rectangle and easier to grip with my hands in soapy dish water.

There are different types of “deep cleaning” the kitchen. If you are going to deep clean the fridge, I suggest doing that first. That way the shelves will have plenty of time to dry while you are doing other tasks. If you are planning on just wiping the fridge down, then you can start from the top and work you way down. In this post, I am going to just wipe the fridge down, but if you would like for me to go deeper into deep cleaning the fridge, let me know. I would be more than happy to update this post, or make another post just for the fridge itself.

I normally start with the appliances. I like to spray Dawn Powerwash in and on my microwave, and let it sit for 2-3 minutes. After that amount of time is spent, I will take my Sponge Daddy and scrub the inside as well as the outside. When using the Dawn Powerwash, remember that it needs to be rinsed. I wet a microfiber cloth, wring it out, and then remove the soap. Depending on how much soap you used, you might have to repeat that process a few times. I do this same process to the outside of my stove. I really like using the Dawn Powerwash on my stove because of how well Dawn removes grease! After that, I take my Clorox Scentiva Disinfecting Spray and a microfiber cloth and wipe down all of my other appliances. This includes my toaster, Air Fryer, blender, Kitchen Aid mixer, and fridge, and freezer. (I didn’t realize just how many appliances I had until I made that list!)

Now that all of the appliances are clean on the inside and outside, I move on to the cabinets, counters, and sink, Unless there is a visible stain, I take my same spray and cloth and run it over all the cabinets, cabinet doors, countertops, and backsplash. If there is a visible stain, you can either use your Dawn Powerwash and a sponge daddy, or you can use the Scrub Daddy PowerPaste! If there is a spot in your sink, I highly recommend using the powerpaste! I haven’t met a mess yet that the powerpaste couldn’t tackle and win.

The last thing to do before the floors is any windows or glass. The only glass cleaner you will find in my home is the Sprayaway Glass Cleaner. I take that and a microfiber cloth and clean my windows, the front of my stove, and the front of my microwave. If you have a glass top stove, I would also use it on that. I, personally, don’t have a glass top stove, but I do have a glass top table. In my case, I also use the Sprayaway glass cleaner on my table. If my table were not glass, though, I would recommend the Clorox Scentiva Disinfecting Spray!

Moving on to the floor, I start by taking my one and only Cordless Shark Vertex Pro vacuum. I go over the floor, and use any attachments necessary to reach any places that I can. Since we are dealing with the kitchen, there is usually a lot of grease and food that can end up on the floor without you realizing it. Therefore, I truly do recommend making sure you are doing a deep clean on your floors, weekly. For that, I always reach for my O’Cedar Spin Mop. I love the shape of the mop head because it gets into very tight spaces, and it makes it very easy and simple to get the deepest cleans, without having to use your hands to wring the mop head out! That last part is the most important to me! For the finishing touch, I fill my teapot up, and boil a full pot of water. I place a tablet of Plink Fizzy Drain Freshener on my drain, and slowly pour the hot water over the tablet. Once it has completely dissolved, it will deep clean your pipes, leaving a fresh lemon scent!
